  • Energy savings are due to reduction in supply energy from municipal supply or customer well pump as well as for reduced energy due to discharge to a treatment plant.
  • The most common existing commercial measures where water savings occur are faucet aerators, showerheads, steam traps, steam cookers, pre-rinse sprayers and dishwashers.
  • Table 4 in MEMD white paper FES-C50 provides saving for some common water conservation measures.
  • Municipal water supply — indirect savings reflects use of city water and should be used for most commercial and industrial customers. If customer sources and treats their own water (wells, lagoons), direct savings should be used. Both savings should never be used.
  • In some case, water may be supplied to the facility but not returned (steam traps, steam cookers, etc.). In these cases, only supply savings should be claimed.
  • List of measures that save water with quantities of project installed (4 low-flow showerheads or 40 kgal/yr).
  • This incentive may be taken in addition to electrical energy savings associated with steam cookers, dishwashers, etc.
