- Lighting power densities must be based on designs that meet applicable codes and standards and follow industry guidelines for acceptable quantity and quality of light for the space type and tasks.
- To receive incentives for new construction/major renovation lighting, use the U.S. Department of Energy COM check software for interior and/or exterior lighting and provide the “Lighting and Power Compliance Certificate” along with the lighting plans and fixture, ballast and lamp specifications with the application.
- The “Space-By-Space” method is to be used to calculate the LPD for the proposed incentive.
- The incentive is based on the difference between the ASHRAE 90.1-2013 allowed wattage and the proposed installed wattage.
- Please reference the lighting specifications sections to verify the lamps and/or ballasts qualify.
- Fixtures that do not fall under one of these categories nor meet those specifications are not eligible for prescriptive incentives. Tables 3 and 4 on the following pages detail the LPD requirements per ASHRAE 90.1-2013.
