This rebate is for the purchase and installation of knee wall insulation. A knee wall is created when a finished room is built within a sloped roof. A short wall called a knee wall forms a triangular space that can be accessed with a short door or access panel in the attic. Not being fully insulated, the Knee Wall spaces result in lots of cold air coming in the Winter and bringing in hot heat and trapped moisture in the Summer month. With the cold and hot, it brings an unsuitable storage room and high energy bill.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • GAS CUSTOMERS:
    • Primary heating system must be natural gas
    • Existing/pre R-value must be less than or equal to R-6 and must insulate up to R-11.
  • ELECTRIC CUSTOMERS:
    • Primary heating system must be electric.
    • Pre R-value must be uninsulated. Final R-value must be R-19 or greater.
  • Must insulate 100 sq ft minimum.
  • Limit one (1) kneewall insulation rebate per home.
  • Must be a residential account holder of a participating energy service provider at the time of equipment installation.
  • The application must be received within 60 days of equipment installation
  • The equipment must be purchased and installed between January 1 and December 31, 2026.
  • Rebates are available on a first come, first served basis and are contingent upon available program funding.
  • Rebate cannot exceed the cost of the energy-efficient improvement.
